Senior Technical Writer, R&D

We are seeking a Technical Writer to write and produce documentation and other collateral for Tacton’s world-leading Configure Price Quote (CPQ) solution used worldwide by our customers.

As Senior Technical Writer in the R&D department you will create internal- and external-facing product documentation for Tacton software. You will work with architects, developers, subject matter experts, marketing and technical staff to update, design, and write content including user and admin manuals, as well as various other guides.

You will need to have a talent for delivering technical information into clear, plain (American) English and be able to write easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions. You also need to be able to maintain the highest quality of work while meeting tight deadlines.

In addition, you will:

  • Identify areas for improvement in existing documentation
  • Provide proofreading/editing services for other forms of written material
  • Migrate existing documentation to online authoring tools
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Help coach non-writers and subject matter experts who need to produce content
  • Work in a small team of technical writers who are responsible for documenting Tacton products
  • Work in close collaboration with Product Management and other teams to understand our internal and external documentation needs.

  • Illustration and graphical talent
  • Expertise in using Atlassian products including Confluence, JIRA and Gliffy, high-level understanding of Microsoft Office suite, HTML, CSS
  • Knowledge of XML-authoring, DITA, Visio, SVN, screen capture software, and other documentation tools
  • Swedish, both spoken and written

Your profile - Education, experience and skills required

We are looking for a person with excellent teamwork skills and a proven ability to write clear and concise technical documentation. You are social and able to manage and perform in a high paced, multi-cultural environment. You have a structured way of approaching and solving tasks and issues, yet a flexible mindset, and you are always open to customers and colleagues.

You also have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English, Journalism or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5 years of experience editing and publishing technical documentation including user guides and training manuals
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid understanding of technical material
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to adhere to style guides and templates
  • High-level organizational and time management skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as on a team
  • Must provide work samples for online and printed documentation (written in English)
